Habitat for Humanity of Flagstaff was founded in 1993 by a group of interested volunteers. These people worked to obtain affiliate status within one year. A substantial financial contribution from another interested individual helped the organization to make a successful start.
To date, 11 homes have been completed in our Flagstaff community. Eleven families comprised of 15 adults and 26 children have been assisted to obtain decent, affordable housing.
There are more than 1,500 U.S. affiliates spread among all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Hundreds of thousands of volunteers provide most of the labor, and faithful individual and corporate donors provide the money and materials to build Habitat houses.
Since its founding in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International has built and rehabilitated more than 150,000 houses with families in need, becoming a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty housing.
Our local affiliate is working hard, and we would welcome your involvement. You can visit us at our new offices located on 1400 East Butler Avenue in the Central Arizona Supply Building.
